The Original Color Chips Floor Coating System

Our floor coating kits are designed to meet your needs and exceed your expectations. The Original Chips are decorative color chip flakes that are specifically created for use in a wide range of decorative applications, including seamless resinous flooring systems and multi-colored wall systems. These color chips are crafted from top-quality pigments, resin, filler, and additives, resulting in through-colored flakes that are random in shape and available in an extensive array of colors. They add a unique texture and color to coated surfaces, closely resembling thin vinyl with no color bleed when wet. The chips are sold in 1lb bags, or in larger quantities such as 5lbs, 10lbs, 20lbs or 40lbs.

We offer an extensive selection of colors, including popular pre-made blends, as well as fluorescent, glow-in-the-dark, and metallic chips.

Broadcasting Options

• Light Broadcast: Approximately 1 pound per 250 sq. ft.
• Medium Broadcast: Approximately 2 pounds per 250 sq. ft.
• Heavy Broadcast: Approximately 3-4 pounds per 250 sq. ft.
• Full Broadcast: Approximately 25 pounds per 250 sq. ft. (Full broadcast floors require specific system components for proper adhesion)

Basic Steps for Epoxy Floor Coating Preparation & Application

1. Surface Preparation: Use etch-n-clean (acid wash) to open the pores of the substrate, remove oil and other contaminants, and provide maximum adhesion for a sandpaper-like finish.
2. Application of Base Coat: Thoroughly mix the components of the base coat epoxy and start by "cutting in" the outside perimeter before rolling the epoxy base coat in six by six foot sections, starting in the furthest corner of the room.
3. Application of Color Chips: Sprinkle the color chips by tossing them upward towards the ceiling, allowing them to float down into the wet base coat using a "basketball-shooter" style dispersion method to avoid clumping and ensure even distribution.
4. Application of Protective Topcoat: After allowing the base coat to cure overnight, mix and apply the topcoat to the entire surface. The topcoat may initially appear milky white but will dry crystal clear. Your floor will be ready for light traffic in as little as 16 hours and heavy traffic in 36 hours.
